Intro to intersections of trauma,
kink, & sex

Trauma affects most of us at some point in our lives, either directly or through someone we care about. Everyone experiences, reacts to, and heals through trauma in their own unique ways; we can never assume any two people’s experience will be the same, even if there are many commonalities. The impact of trauma can show up in all different areas of our lives, often in unexpected ways or at unexpected times. Trauma can also have a huge impact on our sexual functioning, health, and relationships as well as our kink/BDSM relationships and dynamics (with ourselves and others) even if the actual trauma did not involve those aspects of our selves. During this class, we will discuss what trauma is, including a discussion about PTSD and cPTSD, as well as some of the many ways it might intersect with our sexual and/or kink health and relationships. We’ll also discuss some strategies for how to better understand, navigate, and communicate about these intersections.

This class is open only to students of Vegas Toolbox who have attended orientation.

How can I attend this class?

• You must have attended an Vegas Toolbox orientation (online or in person).
• If you’ve never been to a Vegas Toolbox orientation, you will need to register (attend an orientation) for classes.
  • The next orientation is March 9th. Please fill out the RSVP form to attend. 

Been to a Vegas Toolbox Class?

• You will get the class login information the Wednesday before class as long as you have filled out the registration form.
• Please remember, only students who have been to an orientation can attend class.
